Edible Color Wheel

• Prepare a color wheel using a pie plate. With Graham crackers, subdivide the pie plate into twelve triangular sections. Take a pack of jelly beans in solid colors. Put the respective jelly bean color into the correct section. Cover with clear cellophane.
  A variation of this would be to use gelatin or agar. Only agar of the three primary colors should be bought. The students can then mix any two of the three colors of agar to produce the secondary colors. The tertiary colors can then be produced from the secondary hues created. Plain white sugar can be added to sweeten the gelatin. Allow each color to set in separate containers then cut out triangular slices and place them onto the sections.
  
  

Color Wheel Garden

• Have an adult prepare a circular plant box, then put soil and compost into the plant box as needed. Subdivide the box into 12 triangular sections using plywood or some other suitable material. Find different colors of blooms to put into the plant box. Be sure to water your blooms as needed. Make sure that they get enough sunlight.
  
  

Styrofoam Color Wheel

• Draw the outlines of a color wheel on a piece of Styrofoam sheet. Get some water colors. Use the three primary colors - red, blue and yellow - to produce the shades that should go into the designated space in the color wheel sections. Allow each section to dry before doing the section beside it to avoid cross coloring. Cover the sheet with clear plastic so it can survive longer and the colors won’t fade easily.
  
  

Quilted Color Wheel

• Sew three pieces of circular white cloth of the same sizes one over the other. The size will depend on your preference. Take three cellophane sheets - red, blue and yellow - and glue them onto the quilted backing in twelve triangular sections. To get the secondary and primary colors, layer the cellophane according to the prescribed color combinations.
