The Leadership Trait - Judgment

We have to make judgment decisions everyday of our lives.
There are some that are quite simple but there are also numerous ones that will be very complicated and require serious thought to make a logical and smart decision.
We started making decisions when we were kids, what sport do I want to play, who are my friends, what is my favorite color or who is my favorite actress.
There is always some form of influence that you consider when making judgment decisions.
You may have a personal best friend, coach or maybe your parents that have a major influence on you.
Unfortunately there are people of questionable character that thrive on influencing your decisions concerning judgment.
These are people you have to refuse their opinions and advice as they only desire to use you to their advantage.
One bad decision can have a long term effect on your life.
That is why taking advice from positive successful people will help you to make sound judgment decisions.
Positive leadership is dependent on leaders weighing the facts to make sound logical decisions.
I am not suggesting that leaders will never make bad decisions; the key is that their character is outstanding.
If you make a bad decision and are questioned why you made it explain to them you used the information available to you and based on your experience and training in your judgment it was the best solution.
Judgment calls can and will be challenged, if you made a logical decision based on the facts available to you then feel comfortable explaining them.
You have to support your decision or why make one; if it was wrong learn from it and move on.
No one is perfect and I would rather have a leader that considers the facts and makes a judgment decision than one that is scared to.
