How do I Make a Latin American Family Tree?
- 1). Paint a background wash on your canvas using a neutral color like pale blue or cream. This will set off the tree design. Let dry.
- 2). Paint a rounded green tree top, letting the green area take up most of the canvas. Make the edges of the tree top rounded to resemble a real tree. Paint a small brown tree trunk at the bottom. Let dry.
- 3). Draw a series of lines throughout the tree top using a ruler and black fountain pen. Make sure there is one line for each family member that you want to include in the family tree.
- 4). Write the names of your relatives on the lines, writing the names of the youngest family members at the bottom lines and moving upward through the tree by age.
- 5). Write a Spanish phrase under each relative's name, like tio or abuelo, describing their position in the family.
- 6). Write your family's surname along the top of the canvas in pretty script, and if there is a Hispanic version of your family name, include that as well.
