How to Link a Metro PCS Phone to a Laptop
- 1). Install any driver software that came with your phone. The drivers are usually stored on a CD-ROM. If your phone did not come with a disc, check the manufacturer's website to download the software.
- 2). Check the manual to see if you need to install a memory card or change a menu option to activate USB storage mode. The computer will not detect some phones unless the phone has a memory card installed or the correct phone setting is enabled. Other phones have different settings for USB modem and mass storage mode.
- 3). Connect the USB cable to the charging port on the phone. Connect the other end of the cable to an open USB port on your laptop.
- 4). Click the "Start" button on the Windows task bar and select "Computer." The phone will show up as a drive under Devices with Removable Storage.
