How to Make a Blue Crystal
- 1). Add 1 tbsp. of Epsom salt and ¼ cup of hot water in a cup. Stir the solution until the salt dissolves.
- 2). Drop five to 10 drops of blue food coloring into the water. The crystals will retain much of the color from the water.
- 3). Cut a piece of black construction paper into a 9-inch circle. Set the construction paper in the bottom of a disposable 9-inch pie pan.
- 4). Pour the salt water solution into the pie pan to saturate the paper.
- 5). Set the pie pan outside in a sunny location. Blue crystals will form as the water evaporates.
