    Swarovski Crystal Bead Mobile

    • One way to make a Swarovski crystal mobile is with seven monotone strands of beads, ranging from 6 inches to 12 inches long. Each strand should be 1 inch longer than the last, so you would have strands measuring 6 inches, 7 inches, 8 inches, 9 inches, 10 inches, 11 inches and 12 inches. You could select 4 to 6 mm bicone beads in one color as the primary bead in the 12-, 10-, 8- or 6-inch strands of your mobile, dotted with 8 to 10 mm faceted cube-, helix- and rondelle-shaped beads of the same shade. The three remaining strands of this mobile could be a mixture of larger 16 mm cosmics, 18 mm rondelles and 12 mm graphic cubes, all of a contrasting color to the smaller beaded strands. End each of the strands with a 6 to 8 mm top-drilled bicone.

To make crystal bead strands, cut a length of monofilament line or clear beading cord 6 inches longer than your desired finished length. This will give you enough thread to comfortably tie your knots. Thread the end bead and tie a knot around the top, leaving a 1/2 inch tail. Thread the remaining beads for the strand over the tail and up to 1/2 inch from the end. Tie a double knot where the line exits the last bead. Paint a 10 inch craft ring to coordinate with the beads, and tie the strands in a circle ranging from shortest to longest.

    Swarovski Crystal Bead Necklace

    • Craft a beautiful Swarovski crystal bead necklace with five aquiline beads as the centerpiece, each one separated by two 4 mm round crystal pearls. Finish the strand on both sides with alternating 4 mm and 6 mm round crystal pearls. To make this necklace, cut a length of cording to your desired size, plus 6 inches. Thread one of the aquiline beads to the center and thread two 4 mm pearls on either side. Thread an aquiline on both sides, and then two more pearls on either side, followed by the last aquiline on both sides. Finish both sides of the strand with one 4 mm followed by one 6 mm pearl. Add a crimp bead and a clasp to each end to complete the necklace. You can keep the necklace all one color, or alternate colors for a more interesting design.

    Swarovski Crystal Bead Earrings

    • Create a pair of Swarovski crystal bead earrings with two faceted briolettes, one as the drop on each earring and 4 to 6 mm rondelles to fill the headpins. To make the earrings, you'll need two earring pins, needle-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and two earwires. Thread one briolette onto a headpin, and bend the pin 90 degrees as it exits the bead with your needle-nose pliers. Alternate the rondelles to 1/4 inch from the end of the headpin and make a loop in the wire with your round-nose pliers. Hang the pins onto the earwires to complete your earrings.
