    Laundry Basket

    • Purchase a large laundry basket in a style that you think the bride will like. Fill it with items that she might need for the laundry, such as soap, stain remover, a lingerie bag, fabric softener and bleach. If she'll be living in an apartment---or another home where she may not have her own washer and dryer---a roll of quarters is an appropriate addition.

    Kitchen Basket

    • Small items for the kitchen, such as a potato peeler, cherry pitter, cutting board and an apple corer, are inexpensive on their own but add up to something big. Rather than using a basket, place all of these items in a colander or large pot to keep with the kitchen theme.

    Bathroom Basket

    • A basket of items for the bathroom could include small towels, soap and fancy bath salts. You also could go the more practical route by purchasing toilet paper, a plunger, a toilet scrubber and toilet cleaner---it's not sexy, but it is something that she'll need.

    Bedroom Basket

    • Get the newlyweds off to a great start with a bedroom basket. This could include a nice set of sheets---choose a neutral color or select sheets from the gift registry---or "his and hers" slippers. Alternatively, purchase some sexy lingerie that she can wear during the honeymoon and beyond.

    Wrapping It Up

    • Instead of using the more common plastic covering for your gift basket, consider using tulle fabric. It mimics the look of the bridal veil, which makes it appropriate for a bridal shower.
