How to Dissolve Polyurethane on a Floor
- 1). Dip a cotton swab into denatured alcohol. Rub the polyurethane glue with the cotton swab.
- 2). Pour 1 tsp. of denatured alcohol on the dried polyurethane glue. Wait one hour for the denatured alcohol to dissolve the glue.
- 3). Scrape up the glue with a putty knife. Wipe down the area with a paper towel to remove excess glue.
- 4). Sand the area with a piece of fine-grit sandpaper to remove any excess glue.
- 5). Wipe off the area to remove the sandpaper grit.
