Redecorating a Little Girl"s Bedroom With a Disney Princess Theme
If you want to have some fun with decorating, a little girl's bedroom is a great place to set the imagination free.
My daughter loves the Disney princesses at the moment so we decided to make over her bedroom.
I knew that I was going to wind up buying some licensed products, but I didn't want her bedroom to end up looking like the inside of a Disney Store, so I decided to do a little handiwork of my own.
The first thing we did was go shopping for bedding.
I found some bedding sets that included Princess-decorated sheets and a comforter.
The princesses are Aurora, Belle and Cinderella.
As these ladies are all blondes, there was plenty of yellow mixed in with the pink so that gave me an idea for some extra colors to add to the room, to break up the pink.
I also went on the hunt for a bed skirt that would match and picked up an extra set of plain pink sheets and pillow cases as well.
After that, I repainted the walls a very pale yellow and then we used some Disney princess wallpaper borders where the wall meets the ceiling.
I repainted a bedside table to match the walls and found some stencils to decorate the front of the drawer too.
Since the bedroom floor is hardwood, I also decided to get a large 5x7 area rug to match Cinderella's dress in blue.
The final touch was a night light in the shape of Cinderella's carriage for the bedside table and then a plain bed canopy for hanging over the bed.
My daughter really loved the room when it was done, and except for the paint job (which it needed anyway), it didn't take all that much time.
