    Preparing the Boot Disc

    • 1). Download and install ISORecorder (see Resources). Download Chameleon bootloader (see Resources) and copy it to the USB drive.

    • 2). Download the Boot-132 ISO file (see Resources).

    • 3). Navigate to the folder where the Boot-132 ISO is located. Right click on the Boot-132 ISO file and select "Record to CD" to launch ISORecorder.

    • 4). Click "Burn" and insert the blank CD/R to begin burning the ISO disk image. The disc will eject when this process is complete. Your boot CD is now ready.

    Booting Into OS/X

    • 1). Shut down the computer. Insert the Boot-132 CD and boot up the machine.

    • 2). Hit the "Enter" key at the first boot prompt to proceed.

    • 3). Eject the Boot-132 CD and replace it with the Leopard installation DVD when prompted to enter a two-digit hexadecimal value. Do not enter anything until the Leopard installation DVD is in the drive.

    • 4). Hit the "Enter" key once the lights on the disc drive stop flashing. This will boot the machine from the Leopard disc and begin the OS/X installation process.

    Installing OS/X

    • 1). Click "Utilities" and select "Disk Utility" at the welcome screen.

    • 2). Select the desired installation drive from the list. Select the "Format" option, choosing "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3). Choose "Quit Disk Utility" from the "Disk Utility" menu once the format is complete. You will be brought back to the welcome screen.

    • 4). Select "Continue" to proceed. Click "Agree" at the licensing agreement screen.

    • 5). Select the drive previously formatted in Disk Utility and click "Continue" to begin the installation. This process may take some time to complete.

    Rebooting Using Boot CD

    • 1). Replace the Leopard installation DVD with the Boot-132 disc when the OS/X installation is complete and reboot the PC.

    • 2). Press "Enter" at the first boot prompt as before. At the second boot prompt, enter "80" as the value and press the "Enter" key.

    • 3). Select the OS/X hard disk to complete the reboot process. You will now be running Leopard.

    Installing Chameleon Bootloader

    • 1). Insert the USB drive containing the Chameleon bootloader when OS/X boots up.

    • 2). Double click the USB drive icon on the desktop to open it in Finder. Double click the Chameleon bootloader to begin the installation process.

    • 3). Follow all the on-screen prompts. Once Chameleon is successfully installed, OS/X will be able to boot up without the CD.
