15th Annual Sacramento Arts Festival

November 2 & 3, 10am-6pm; November 4, 10am-5pm – Sacramento Convention Center

The 15th annual Sacramento Arts Festival features 225 of America’s best craftsmen in all genres of fine arts. With more than 15,000 art pieces to experience while also enjoying live entertainment, families can peruse the grounds of the Sacramento Convention Center and take in some incredible local talent. Tickets are $8, and kids aged 12 and under are free.

Battle of the Musicians

November 6-7 – Pine Cove Tavern, Sacramento

At the Battle of Musicians, each act gets to play two songs, with the audience determining the winner. It is completely free to attend and a great way to enjoy quality music. The winning act receives a showcase gig at the Pine Cove later that month. If you’re a musician looking to be discovered locally, or simply want to come out to hear some great tunes, these are the nights for you to come on out.

Happy Tails Pups and Pinot

November 10, 1pm-5pm – Old Sugar Mill, Clarksburg

If you are a dog lover, a wine lover (or both!) you’ll want to head out to the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg for this special evening benefitting Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary. You can enjoy a glass of locally made wine, and perhaps adopt a new four-legged companion to take home with you.

Downtown Holiday Ice Rink

November 2 – January 21, times vary – Sacramento Downtown Plaza

The K Street mall area starts hopping – or rather gliding – after November 2, as the outdoor ice rink opens to the public. Skate during the day or well into the evening for a great low price. The rink operates from November until late January, so there are a lot of chances to go as a family or on a romantic skating date. However, it’s best to go during early November when the crowds are lighter and the ice is still fresh.

Things that Slither

November 17, 10:30am – Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Carmichael

Halloween may be over, but there are still plenty of creepy crawlies at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. On the morning of November 17, kids are welcome to come to a free exhibit of all things that slither, including the chance to meet a local reptile up close and personal.
