    Green

    • The Arts & Crafts movement shunned industrialism, emphasizing nature and individuality. The predominate influence of nature is reflected in the Arts & Crafts color palette, with all shades of muted green playing a dominate role. Using any green tone paint for your interior walls that has a dusty, natural tone to it lends itself well to an Arts & Crafts interior design concept.

    Yellow

    • Like green, the yellow colors you use for your Arts & Crafts interior painting must be muted and subtle. This does not mean the color should be pale or light, in fact rich, mellow yellow tones are often used for interiors, as are cream and hubbard squash yellow.

    Brown

    • The earthy tones of brown include beige, taupe, red browns and deep brown when used for an Arts & Crafts interior. The darker tones of brown are frequently applied to trim, base boards and railings, while lighter hues are ideal for walls and ceilings, particularly if you plan to add the authentic Arts & Crafts decorating technique of stenciling to your walls.

    Blue

    • Blue was commonly used as a rich accent color and often in unexpected shades in Arts & Crafts home interiors. Most blue paint colors used are mixed to a gray tone, creating a more subtle, dusty color. As an accent and darker value of blue, the color almost never is used in pure form, but mixed with gray, green, or brown to make a more earthy hue.

    Red

    • Seldom used as a wall color, unless highly lightened with white or cream, red is seen on trim, doors and furniture. Red tone Arts & Crafts colors can range from rich adobe red or burgundy, to soft rose and ruby hues.
