This article is about you living a long and healthy active life.
I know you believe you are on top of this nutrition issue but are you really? You had better be sure as your body needs nutrients to function properly.

Now getting the correct amount of nutrients is necessary for you to have balanced nutrition, this applies to your family as well as you.
The fuel you and your family need for your daily activities and a healthy, active lifestyle are these nutrients.
How can you be sure you are getting them you ask? Well I am going to tell you.
You should always begin your day with a healthy breakfast, because after many hours of sleep your body desperately requires some food.
This important meal kick starts your metabolism and sets up your whole day.
Now to prevent energy slumps and hungering for sugar snacks (very bad for you) you and your family should eat small meals frequently throughout the day.
Snacks are good providing they are the healthy type like your fruits, vegetables and small servings of protein.
The protein snacks such as unsalted nuts, yogurt or maybe even low fat cheese will help you and yours avoid overeating at your lunches or your dinners You need to actively begin to shift your family's food choices to a balance healthy diet.
Feed your gang and their bodies with a wide range of nutrients, whole grains and seven servings of fruit and vegetables daily.
You will all be better off for the change.
Protein is a must, as it is contained in every part of your body.
It builds you strong body tissue while providing a source of your energy.
And did I tell you that it controls many of your processes related to metabolism? Well it does and you find your nutrients in lean red meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products and plant foods like beans, lentils and soybeans.
There are many sources so you have no excuse not to have enough.
You and your family should aim for 2 to 3 servings from different sources every day.
A balanced diet also must have fiber as it helps your digestive system Fiber is only found in plant food such as fruits, vegetables, beans, oats and whole grain rice, whole wheat bread, nuts seed and brans.
As you can see there are many options for your fiber so have some with each meal.
And lastly, you and yours should reduce your sugars, saturated fats and salt intakes.
And be sure you and your family stay properly hydrated.
And as always you all must eat well to be well.
