How to Copy an Audio CD to an MP3 Player

    Windows Media Player

    • 1). Open Windows Media Player. Insert the audio CD that you want to copy into your computer's disc drive.

    • 2). Click the "RIP" button. Place a check next to the songs that you want to copy to the MP3 player. Click "Rip Music." When prompted, select "Keep my current format settings." Each song will be ripped to your computer one at a time. When all of the songs have been ripped, they will be placed in the Windows Media Player Library.

    • 3). Connect the MP3 player to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Click the "Sync" button.

    • 4). Click the drop-down box next to the Sync List. Select "All Music." Right-click the songs from the audio CD you just ripped and click "Add to List."

    • 5). Scroll down the list of files in the "List" window. If you want to edit the tag information for any file, right-click the file and click "Edit." Change or add any information you want and click "Apply." Click the "Start Sync" button to begin transferring the songs from the audio CD onto your MP3 player.

    iTunes

    • 1). Open iTunes. Insert the audio CD that you want to copy into your computer's disc drive.

    • 2). Click "Import CD." Each track will be copied to your iTunes library one at a time.

    • 3). Connect the iPod to your computer. Click the "Summary" tab. Click "Manually manage music." Click "Apply."

    • 4). Click the "Music" category under "Library." Drag and drop the audio tracks from the CD you copied recently onto your iPod. The files will be transferred one at a time. You can organize them into playlists and add album and artist info after the transfer is complete. This process works with any MP3 player that recognizes iTunes.
