How to Make a Hook for a Paracord Bracelet
- 1). Cut a 3-inch strip of wire from the spool of jewellery wire. Mark the wire with the permanent marker 1 inch from the end. Bend the wire in half with the round needle-nose pliers.
- 2). Crush this bend with the square pliers so the wire lays flat. Hold the square needle-nose pliers where the end of the bent wire overlaps. Bend the unfolded side of the wire to a right angle against the pliers.
- 3). Pinch the wire with the round needle-nose pliers just above the right angle. Wrap the wire around the round pliers in the opposite direction of the bend from Step 2. Pinch the loop this creates with the square needle-nose pliers so the wire lies flat again.
- 4). Keep the wire in the square needle-nose pliers and twist the long ends until the shortest end is wrapped around the rest of the wire. Pinch the end of the shortest piece against the rest of the wire using the round needle-nose pliers or the tip of the wire cutters, if needed. This loop will be the end you tie into the bracelet.
- 5). Mark the wire piece in the center, which should be about 1/2 inch from the end. Use the round needle-nose pliers to curve the end opposite the loop into a small hook. Stop short of bending the wire into a complete circle, leaving a small space between the end of the loop and the rest of the piece.
- 6). Bend the wire in half in the opposite direction of the loop on the mark in the middle.
- 1). Cut a 1-inch section of jewellery wire.
- 2). Loop the wire in half so the ends cross at a right angle. Twist the wire to close off the loop, so the ends spiral around each other.
- 3). Wrap the other end of the wire around the round needle-nose pliers. Close the loop by wrapping the wire past 360 degrees. Pinch the circle slightly with the square needle-nose pliers.
- 1). Tie the hook end to the paracord bracelet, lacing the end of the bracelet through the closed loop.
- 2). Tie the loop end from Step 2 to the paracord bracelet.
- 3). Close the clasp by connecting the hook through the free end of the circle loop.
