    • 1). Using a shovel, rake or other such object, localize the coals first. Pile them in the center of the pit, leaving behind excess ash if possible.

    • 2). Using the same tool, lay wood remnants on either side of the coals and then pile those that remain across these. If you are not out of firewood, lay more new wood across them as well, suspending them just above the piled coals.

    • 3). Leaning close to the fire, blow into the nest of coals at the center. Do this repeatedly, until the wood catches fire again and the blaze has been rekindled.
