Improve Your Opt-In Rates
Ok so your site is getting traffic, but the opt-in rates are not what you were looking for.
It may be time to look again at your Squeeze page.
Take a fresh look with open eyes.
Ask yourself "would I look at this?" Look at the headline.
Does the headline really jump out at you? Have you put in the benefit to the visitor if they continue to look at your page.
Don't forget a large proportion of your visitors are going to do no more than read your headline so there has to be something in there that is going to make them look further.
Are you using a video.
If you are using a video, is it a generic one from your company? Could you make one yourself to put a unique spin on things? At the end of the day you must have a passion for the product or business that you are promoting.
You can convey your enthusiasm in a video and make it more believable that the generic company one that your visitors have probably seen many times before.
Remember if you are promoting a quality product or business let your own belief in the product come through.
Is there an added incentive.
Look again at what you are offering the visitor.
If it is just information about your business you could entice them further with a free report or training material.
If you are already offering this, can the free material be improved in some way? Is it relevant to what you are trying to promote.
How they will benefit.
Is it clear from the video or the written text how the visitor would benefit from looking further at the product or business.
Make sure that you are talking of benefits and not just the features that it has.
There is a vast difference to the visitor Demand they take action.
Have you told them what to do? By that I mean don't say "if you would like further information please put your name and email address in the box below".
Just tell them to "put in your name and email address and I will send you the details that will blow your socks off" or words to that effect.
What I mean is TELL them don't ask.
Opt-in Box.
There are so many different templates you can use when making an opt-in box that you can make them as interesting as you want.
All I would say is that you try to keep it simple.
You should not ask for information if you do not really need, or you probably won't use it, for example telephone numbers.
If this is vital to your marketing model, then fair enough, but if it's not needed then don't ask.
People like to give as little away as possible in the beginning, you can always get further information at a later date.
Split Testing.
Finally you should always be testing which version works best by running split tests.
These are quite easy to set up with software or for free just do a search to find out how.
But once you have the traffic you should always be looking at what works best and always be doing split tests to confirm it.
If a new video works better then keep it, if the old opt-in box is best then try to find a better one.
Only by continuous testing and refining will you eventually get the conversion rate that you are looking for.
