    • 1). Insert the DVD into your computer's DVD-ROM drive. Open the DVD in the media player of your choice. Fast-forward to the scene you wish to capture. Pause the DVD playback. Leave the media player open.

    • 2). Press the "Print Screen" key. A screencap of your visible desktop has now been copied to the clipboard. On a full keyboard, this key will be located directly above the "Insert" key. On a laptop keyboard, it will be on the right-hand side of the topmost row of keys.

    • 3). Open a new document within your image editing software. Click within the new document and paste the contents of the clipboard.

    • 4). Use the crop tool to remove everything from the image except the video screen.

    • 5). Open the "File" menu. Click "Save As." Save the file as a PNG or JPEG. These file types allow for the highest image quality while keeping the image at a reasonable size.
