How to Kill Household Spiders

    • 1). Move all boxes, furniture or other large items away from walls and corners of rooms as spiders often hide in such areas. This is especially true for rooms with little traffic, such as basements, attics or garages.

    • 2). Suck up any spiders you find with a vacuum sweeper. A small, hand-held vacuum is beneficial for this as it allows you to move boxes and small furniture with one hand and suck up spiders with the other. Suck up any spider eggs you see as well.

    • 3). Spray spiders with a bug spray as an alternative to the vacuum cleaner. A benefit of the spray is that it's easier to handle and use. However, some sprays may be harmful to pets or small children. Make sure the bug spray is intended for the use of spider control.

    • 4). Sweep and dust all problem areas of the home regularly to help keep spiders away. Spiders tend to stay in cluttered, dusty or dirty areas, so regular housekeeping may be enough to keep most spiders away.
