Basket of Champagnes

• Present your dad with a gift basket of six of his favorite champagnes along with some gourmet cheeses and candied fruits. If your dad loves primarily white wines, get a few bottles of various brands of Chardonnays, Pinot Gris, or Riesling champagnes. Also include a birthday card with a wine-related design on it and write a funny message on the inside of the card.
  
  

Family Photo

• Hire a professional photographer for a memorable family portrait or ask a friend to take some pictures of dad with his adult children and any grandchildren. Frame the best photo in a masculine frame for him to enjoy while he's working in the office. For a truly special gift, decorate the box with old family photos from the last several decades and even pictures of dad when he was a child. To avoid ruining these family photos, make color copies of them and then use the copies as wrapping paper.
  
  

Tickets to a Local Auto Show

• For the male loved one who enjoys researching the latest cars, you can give him tickets to an upcoming local auto show. In addition to the tickets, include a $60 gift certificate to his favorite auto supplies store and a subscription to Automobile magazine.
  
  

Flower and Vegetable Plants

• If your dad loves working in his garden, look for vegetable or flower plants that he hasn't grown in his garden yet but that he will enjoy. For example, if your dad grows mostly green onions, hot peppers and eggplants but he has expressed interest in having a herb garden, purchase some rosemary, chives, oregano and basil plants for him. Perhaps buy six of each plant variety to represent his six decades of life.
