Appearance

  • Bark is the rainbow tree's most distinctive feature. It peels from the tree in long, thin strips, revealing hues of light green, purple, red, brown and orange. The leaves are paired and ovate, and the small, white flowers grow in clusters. For such a large tree, it produces unusually small fruit averaging less than ¼ inch in length.
