Chopsticks Crafts

Chopsticks are well suited to keep long hair out of faces and can replace scrunchies, pins or headbands by being woven through a curled up ponytail. Clean the chopsticks and paint them with colorful lacquer paint or nail varnish. You can also glue beads, small rhinestones or ornamental plastic flowers on the top end and you will have a beautiful, personalized gift for someone with long hair. - Beams and frames on wooden models can be made of chopsticks.Ryan McVay/Digital Vision/Getty Images
When cut to size, chopsticks can be used in the model building of houses whenever there is a need for beams, poles or posts. Alternatively, they can be masts on model boats, or replace popsicles in the construction of miniature log cabins. Enthusiastic Asian food gourmets or chopstick collectors with knowledge in boat construction might be interested in building a canoe. - Art can have some use for chopsticks.Stockbyte/Stockbyte/Getty Images
You can use chopsticks to stir and mix paint, but you might want to consider including them in pictures, sculptures or art installations. They can be added to collage paintings as door frames, beams or slender tree trunks, or placed into the hands of sculptures. In art installations, they can be used as support for other elements, or become the main feature by, among others, sticking out of Styrofoam balls or surfaces. - The control bar of a marionette can be made from chopsticks.Comstock/Comstock/Getty Images
Make a cross with two chopsticks and secure it with string. Build a puppet with moveable arms and legs. Tie strings or wires around the hands and legs of the puppet, and fasten an additional string on its head. Secure the strings for the arms and legs at the end points of the chopstick cross, and secure the string leading from the head at the middle of the cross. Lift the chopstick bar and adjust the strings to allow you to move the puppet, and your marionette is ready for performance. - You can make a fascinating mobile by hanging cute dolls from chopsticks.Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images
Collect six small cuddly dolls and teddy bears of approximately the same size. Stitch strings to their heads which you then fasten on each side of three chopsticks. Tie a string around the middle of the three chopsticks, and fasten those on a fourth. Lift the mobile and adjust the length of the strings to avoid them getting entangled. Fasten the mobile on the ceiling in a nursery, or give it away as a present on a baby shower.
