How to Attach a Char-Griller Side Fire Box
- 1). Open the Char-Griller lid to remove the cooking and charcoal grates. Set them aside.
- 2). Unscrew the four bolts that hold the Char-Griller to the stand and turn the main Char-Griller barrel on its left side. The damper vent on the right side of the grill faces upward.
- 3). Drill through the six-hole templates around the damper using a 5/16-inch drill bit. Tap out the metal damper plate to create an oval opening in the side of the grill.
- 4). Line up the holes on one end of the firebox with the six holes in the side of the Char-Griller. Insert the bolts supplied with the fire box through each hole in the firebox and through the hole in the Char-Griller. Secure each bolt with a nut twisted onto the bolt inside the Char-Griller and tighten with pliers.
- 5). Reattach the Char-Griller to the stand using the four bolts you removed in Step 2. Replace the charcoal and cooking grates and close the lid.
