How to Use Quadro Drivers With a GTX 8800

    • 1). Download the latest NVIDIA driver for the Quadro 4000 series of video cards from the NVIDIA website. Do not install the driver at this time.

    • 2). Browse to the Guru of 3D website and download the Rivatuner application. Double-click the downloaded file and then follow the prompts to extract the utility to a folder on your computer. Open the folder where you extracted the Rivatuner files. Click the "Setup" file and then follow the instructions to install Rivatuner on your computer. When prompted to update the application, click the "Yes" button.

    • 3). Launch the Rivatuner application in your computer. Click the "Customize" button located in the "Target Adapter" section of the main Rivatuner window. Click the first icon (Low-level System Settings) after the pop-up with five graphical icons appears. Wait for the "Low-level System Tweaks" window to appear.

    • 4). Click the "NVStrap" tab in the "Low-level System Tweaks" window. Click and select "Custom" in the "Graphics Adapter Identification" drop-down box in the "PCI DeviceID settings" section. Click and enable the "Use ROM Straps for PCI DeviceID Programming" check box and then select the "019E (NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600)" option in the drop-down list. Click the "Apply" button and then "OK." Reboot your reboot your computer to finish unlocking the 8800 GTX and apply the new settings.

    • 5). Browse to the folder where you saved the latest NVIDIA Quadro series drivers. Double-click the setup file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the device driver software. Reboot the computer. When the PC restarts, you should notice a considerable increase in performance when working with 3D modeling or rendering applications.
