Finding Accommodation in Coral Bay, WA
Coral Bay is a tiny town approximately 1300km north of Perth.
It is best known for the stunning beaches located right on the Ningaloo Reef.
You can literally swim out 10 metres from the beach and be amongst some amazing marine life.
The issue with it being such a small town though is finding accommodation can be difficult, and expensive.
Even the caravan parks are often booked out for 6 months in advance, and if you really want to go at the best seasons you may need to book a long time in advance.
Still, it is absolutely worth it.
At the time of writing, there are a few different accommodation options.
The first is a backpackers, which is relatively cheap, and quite popular.
It has the basic accommodation requirements and a lot of backpackers and couples choose to stay there.
There are two caravan parks which are quite similar.
Both have powered and unpowered camp sites, and there are cabins for those looking for something a little more luxurious.
There are a number of houses at Coral Bay, and these are very quickly booked out.
Don't expect anything too flash though; the houses are relatively old, but more than comfortable enough to stay in.
If you are lucky enough to get one that has beach views, you will really learn to appreciate the sunsets at Coral Bay.
There is also a resort at Coral Bay, which is very popular too.
This is located right on the beach, and has a range of different choices depending on the number of people that you have staying, and the comfort level you are requiring.
If you are towing a boat, its worth considering where you are going to keep it outside your accommodation.
This is probably the primary reason that people visit Coral Bay.
Majority of the accommodation options allow you to keep the boat out of the way, but it does pay to ensure it isn't going to get damaged.
I mentioned above that the primary attraction to Coral Bay is the beaches, and Ningaloo Reef.
Because of this, the prices for accommodation are quite high (compared to what you might expect).
Unfortunately, there isn't much that you can do about this, as the nearest town north is Exmouth (some 200km away) and south is Canarvon (again, another 200 odd kilometers).
My suggestion is pay the money; its well worth for what you actually get to enjoy and see.
