Losing weight can be difficult if our bodies are not properly balanced with the correct nutrition. One way to make sure we have the correct nutrition is to ensure we have a proportionate ratio of healthy Omegas in our diet. By having the right amount of Omega 3 in your system, you could burn 25% more fat.

Omegas come in three main forms: 3, 6 and 9. Now 3 and 6 are essential fatty acids which means we need to get it from our diets. In the Western diet, we consume too much 6 and not enough 3. Omega 9 we really do not have to worry about because it is made in the body. The ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 should be 1 to 1 or at least lower than 4 to 1. In our Western diet, it can be as high as 30 to 1, which is extremely unhealthy and not conducive to weight loss. A good way to have a healthy balance is to decrease meat and increase nuts.

Healthy Omegas to help lose weight are found in fish, nuts, seeds, green leafy vegetables, and avocados. Moderately healthy are the oils from flaxseed, olive, and hemp. It is better that the oil is stored in dark glass so as not to lose nutrients destroyed by light and the oil not be contaminated by the toxins from the plastic. Unhealthy Omegas are found in vegetable oil and animal fat.

Omegas have an antifungal, antiyeast and anti-microbial properties. Keeping fungus, yeast and microbes in control, helps lower inflammation, and helps get rid of stubborn fat. Some of the benefits of having proportionate healthy Omegas are:
• weight loss
• faster metabolism
• building lean body mass
• helps muscles recover faster from workouts
• reduces inflammation, arthritis, PMS and asthma
• affects certain hormones that are involved with appetite, fat storage and insulin balance
• they aid in the transport of minerals for stronger bones
• help brain function which helps depression, ADHD and Alzheimer's
• help heart functions which lowers cardiovascular disease,
• inhibits tumor growth,
• maintains healthy hair, skin, nails

Some of the deficiencies of not having the correct amounts are:
• Weight gain
• Slow metabolism
• constipation
• slow digestion
• low energy
• sleep issues
• lower immune
• allergies
• low libido
• poor wound healing,
• brittle hair
• hair falling out
• skin issues like dry skin, acne, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea
• tingling in arms and legs
• breast and prostate cancer

Sadly, our soil is depleted of needed nutrients that seep into our food supply. We are not getting the daily dose of Omega 3 we need to ward of disease and control weight. Therefore, to help lose weight we may need some supplementation. However, not all supplements are created equal. You must do your research and go with a healthy product rather than a popular one.

A good choice for the weight loss benefit of Omega 3 is to go to a better natural source like wild caught seafood, eggs from chicken with a diet rich in Omega 3, grass fed animals, and organic nuts. Have a healthier diet of raw, organic, fresh food instead of processed, boxed, canned, or fast food.

Do changes to your lifestyle slowly, one at a time. Look up a recipe and learn to add healthy ingredients to your food. Cook your favorite food in a different way like baked instead of fried.
