    • 1). Soak a towel in cold water for five to 10 minutes, then place around the neck or across the forehead.

    • 2). Massage two pressure points at the back of the neck, just below the base of the skull. The points are about 2 inches apart. Press for a couple of minutes to help blood flow and release endorphins that help fight the pain.

    • 3). Take a warm shower or bath to ease tension.

    • 4). Lie down in a dark room to avoid bright light.

    • 5). Drink tomato juice, which is low in sugar but contains plenty of water and vitamin C.
