Diamond Braid Military Lanyard Instructions
- 1). Hook the carabiner to a sturdy object. This will allow you to keep tension in the braid as you work.
- 2). Fold the first cord in half and drape the fold over the narrow end of the carabiner. Then pass both loose ends between the fold and carabiner and pull tight to secure the cord.
- 3). Secure the second cord to the carabiner in the same manner that you secured the first cord, so the four ends of the two cords hang side-by-side, with the cords arranged so that the two ends of the first cord are on the left and the two ends of the second cords are on the right.
- 4). Take the rightmost cord and pass it behind the two middle cords. Then pass it across the front of the cord that was originally second from the left. The cord you wove will now be second from the right.
- 5). Take the leftmost cord and pass it behind the two middle cords. Then pass it across the front of the cord that was second from the right before you began weaving this cord. The cord you wove will now be second from the left.
- 6). Grab the two left cords in one hand and the two right cords in the other and pull the two pairs of cords away from one another to tighten the knots.
- 7). Add knots to the braid, first weaving the rightmost cord then the leftmost cord, and then tightening until you near the ends of the cords.
- 8). Secure the ends of the cord by tying the two end from the first piece of cord together and the two ends of the second cord together.
