Country Weekly Fashion Show

When I first heard that there was going to be a fashion show during the CMA Music Fest, I headed over to the Musicians On Call website and bought a ticket. Money raised by the sale of tickets to the event would benefit the Musicians on Call organization, which has a mission to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in health care facilities.

The event was hosted by Clay Walker, with help from CMT's Charla.

Clay would announce the artist, and Charla would talk about what they were wearing. Clothes were from Wrangler, and a boutique in Nashville called Flavour. (Note: In an interview last year, Little Big Town's Karen and Kimberly talked about the store as being one of their favorite places to get clothes.)

Alphabetically, the participants included Chance, who acted as the DJ for the night. Blue County, Catherine Britt, Lee Brice, Shannon Brown, Laura Bryna, Jason Michael Carroll, Jessica Craig (model and fiancee of Clay Walker), Ty Herndon, Kerri D. (DJ from Nashville's 95.5 The Wolf radio station), Keech Rainwater, Michael Britt and Dean Sams of Lonestar, Neal McCoy, Beverley Mitchell, Rissi Palmer, Danielle Peck, Trick Pony, Tanya Tucker, Storme Warren, Bryan White, Erika Page White, Trent Willmon, Darryl Worley and Chris Young.

Each artist modeled two outfits, and besides the clothes and shoes, some of them wore jewelry from Tiffany. Some of my favorite outfits were Tanya Tuckers gorgeous evening gown, Danielle Peck's seafoam green dress, and Aubrey Collins rocker chick look.

Some of the more memorable moments were when it was Darryl Worley's time to come out, as Clay was introducing him, he stuck a leg out a little at a time, then a bit more and more... from between the curtain. Then, Chris Young, was asked to show us his dance moves, which he did. When Trent Willmon came out the second time, as he got to the end of the runway, he showed how handy having a Wrangler shirt with snaps for buttons is, as he unsnapped his shirt in 2 seconds flat.

A couple artists were asked to sing a bit, and newcomer Rissi Palmer was one. They asked her to sing something from Patsy Cline, and she did so, to perfection. This young lady has an awesome voice. She just released a song to radio recently, called "Country Girl," and I'm gonna be listening for it. Jason Michael Carroll was also asked to sing a few lines of "Alyssa Lies," which he did a capella, including the deep note at the end. Oooohhh... loved it.

Then, there was Naked Cowboy. Yup. That's his name. He's a guy that dresses in his underwear, a cowboy hat and cowboy boots, and that's it. He's got Naked Cowboy written on the front and back of his underwear and all over his guitar. He's a trip. He even sang a bit for us.

The whole show lasted about 2 hours, and afterwards the artists performed. I didn't stay for the performances, as my feet were protesting all the standing so long, but I'm sure it was a great time to be had.

Country Weekly will feature coverage from the event in their 7/16 issue, on newsstands 7/2. You can enjoy our pictures right now. :)
