Capillary Viscometer Designed High-Pressure and High Temperature Hydrogen Gas Viscosity Measurements

Capillary viscometer was designed tool for high pressure and high temperature gas dynamic viscosity. The machine is very easy and safe for handling. Gas were supplied to the capillary tube from a high-pressure reservoir through a pressure regulator unit to maintain a constant flow. In extreme conditions, the capillary tube with high-precision measurements of the pressure drop is the main challenge for this method. Difference between the high pressure up to 100 MPa pressure sensor is not for commercial purposes. Therefore, the exact absolute pressure transducers were used as a pair of differential pressure sensor. Then the pressure drop is calculated by subtracting one from the inlet to the resolution of 100 Pa 100 MPa pressure. The accuracy of this measurement system is confirmed by measuring the viscosity of nitrogen as reference gas. Apparatus for the viscosity of nitrogen from ambient temperature to 500 K, and hydrogen from ambient temperature to 400 K and pressure up to 100 MPa, the maximum deviation is 2.2%, compared with the correlation with authors and REFPROP (NIST).

There are various ways to assess the architectural paint viscosity: efflux cups, Krebs viscometer with a spindle speed of rotation of the drive spindle viscometer or a cone / plate. All have their advantages and disadvantages. The best measurement procedure will ultimately be one that provides reliable, Pass / Fail method, laboratory technicians and plant personnel can quickly and easily. This article will briefly summarize the viscosity of the test methods used in industry (which in many cases, are all necessary), and to provide information on the proposed two-point test that can give explicit permission / failure of the QC measurements.

Busy QC laboratory, manufacturing floor or in the factory, fast and simple measurement is usually desirable.
