    • 1). Open your bench vise. Wrap half of your rip blade in a dry rag. Slide the rag-covered half of the blade between the jaws of the vise. Close the vise snugly around the rag to hold the blade firmly in place.

    • 2). Face the blade so that you are looking at the cutting edge of the teeth at the top. Turn on the rotary tool. Rub the grinding wheel across the top and the face of each cutting point. Grind each surface until it is smooth.

    • 3). Turn off your rotary tool. Open the vise. Pull the saw blade free of the rag and spin the blade 90 degrees. Cover the bottom half of the blade, insert it into the vise and close the jaws around the blade. Sharpen the surfaces of each cutting point with the rotary tool. Continue rotating, clamping and grinding until the blade is sharpened.

    • 4). Dampen two rags with light weight machine oil. Wrap the blade with the oily rags to protect the metal from rust. Wrap the bundle with four dry rags and store it in a dry place.
