Motorola Dext Review
The Motorola Dext is the first Andriod mobile phone from Motorola. It measures 114mm x 58mm x 15.6mm and weighs 163 grams, so it not only is a smartphone but has the dimensions and weight of one too. The front of the phone is almost completely taken up by the 3 inch screen, which is of course a touch screen. The edges are rounded and give the Dext a real modern look, as well as make it easier to hold. Beneath the screen are a few tactile keys. A clever aspect of the Motorola Dext is the side slide out full qwerty keyboard. This makes it much easier to type longer smss, write emails as well as surf the internet. The Dext is available in either white or titanium.
The camera on the Dext has 5 mega pixels and auto focus. The screen has an accelerometer, which means that it will switch between being horizontal and vertical depending on the position of the phone. This of course also works for the camera, letting you get creative with your landscape shots. There is also a geotagging feature included, which means that when you take a picture, it is automatically tagged with the location it was taken for future reference.
There is a built in music player, which comes with 1GB internal memory, however it can be increased to 32GB using a MicroSD card. Sound quality is decent and most music formats are supported by the Motorola Dext. Motorola have also included a 3.5 mm headphone jack so that people can use their own headphones. Typically only Sony Ericsson and Nokia music phones had these.
The Motorola Dext is one of the newer phones from Motorola, and they did take quite some time to develop it. However it is a great option for people who want a smartphone, with touch screen capabilities and dont want a Samsung or the iPhone.
