The GT540 looks very, very nice; the curved chassis meets at points in the corners, the phones casing has a grained metallic finish which frame's the vibrant 3.0 inch HVGA display. The touch sensitivity of the screen is noticeably good for such a reasonable price; it displays images and pages with reasonable clarity and looks quite pleasant being surrounded by such a raw testosterone inspired body. LG have definitely got the visual appeal down, but what about the performance?
LG have gone with an Android operating system which will benefit its user with some Google goodies and gives them full uncensored exposure to the world of the Android Market. The Android Market is a shopping mall of downloadable apps, games and other treats to improve and personalize your handset. The 1.6 version of Android has been specifically selected by LG as they feel it's more appropriate for the audience they are aiming for, the phone functions at a reasonable speed with its 600Hz processor and the simple UI is pretty responsive and laid out perfectly for inexperienced users.
The exclusive social networking client LG use provides full management of your entire online network accounts, including Facebook and Twitter, all of your status update and tweets are streamed for an overview and with e-mail incorporation the Optimus delivers a full range of messaging and communications for you to use. Your main screen can be designed to fit the mood or personality of its user, widgets can be moved, removed or added and there are four pre-loaded themes; all of this is supplied by the My Style! My Widget! feature.
