GPRS Transmitter

• If a device has an embedded GPRS transmitter, this means that the device -- most likely a cellular phone or PDA -- has GPRS capability. GPRS transmitters are otherwise usually contained in modems, which can be plugged into such devices. It is cheaper, because the service is packet based, meaning that users can share the same connection; and it is also faster, making it possible to carry out real-time functions on the Internet, such as remote conferencing or real-time monitoring.
