Instructions for Making Your Own MP3 Tones for Free
- 1). Direct your browser to ringtone-making software (see Resources).
- 2). Click "Upload," browse for an MP3, select it, click "Open" and wait for the file to upload to the website.
- 3). Click "Play" to listen to the track. Click the waveform image to place a marker. Place the markers around the area that you wish to select.
- 4). Scroll down and click "Make a Ringtone" once you are satisfied with your selection. Right-click "Download Ringtone" and select "Save Link As." Browse for a save location and click "Save."
- 5). Connect your phone to a free USB port on your computer. When the dialog box appears, click "Open Folder to View Files." Navigate to the folder where your phone music files are stored and click and drag the cropped MP3 to this folder.
- 6). Click the start button and open "Computer." Scroll down to the drive allocated to your phone, right-click and select "Eject." The cropped MP3 file will now be available to select as a ringtone.
