    • 1). Clean any dust off the flatware with the soft, clean cloth.

    • 2). Handwash the flatware after each use with phosphate-free soap and warm water. Phosphate-free soaps are typically advertised as all natural soaps such as Palmolive's Eco soap or LifeTree dish soap.

    • 3). Dry the silver pieces thoroughly.

    • 4). Apply a small amount of the silver polish to a clean, lint-free cloth and rub the polish on the silverware in a circular motion. If you take good care of your silver, you only need to polish the items once or twice a year.

    • 5). Rinse the polish off the silverware. Use a towel or soft sponge to remove the excess polish cream while rinsing.

    • 6). Store the pieces in silverware storage bags. Stack the flatware according to the type of flatware it is. This means, keep dessert spoons together, large forks together and so on. Always store the silver in bags when it is not being used.
