How to Create a Bootable XP Disk With Roxio
- 1). Download a bootable CD image. There are numerous sites online that offer free bootable diagnostic CD images for use on Windows XP such as UltimateBootCD.com or BootDisk.com. Addtionally, many antivirus software companies offer diagnostic boot CDs for purchase. The downloaded boot CD should be in the ISO image file format.
- 2). Open Roxio. Insert the blank CD into the computer's burning ROM.
- 3). Select "File" > "Record CD from CD Image" within Roxio. Depending on your version of Roxio, the option may be listed as "Burn Image."
- 4). Browse for the downloaded bootable disk image (.iso) and click "Open."
- 5). Select "Start Recording" from the "Write CD/Record CD Setup" dialog window that appears. Roxio will begin burning the boot CD image to the disk. Once completed, you will have a fully bootable disk for use with Windows XP.
