How to Do Termite Prevention
- 1). Termites are attracted by moist soil. Make sure that water from your gutters is directed away from you house. Try to keep the soil around your home dry as much as possible. Termite prevention begins with maintenance.
- 2). Keep all wood on your home from touching the soil. That mean no firewood stacks, stumps, or yard debris should ever be near your house. Also, keep mulch, tree limbs and bushes from touching your house for good termite prevention.
- 3). You also need to inspect your home and the surrounding area for termite prevention. Look for damaged areas of wood and for tubes of dirt coming up the sides of your house. It is important to catch termites as soon as possible before they are able to do damage to your home.
- 4). If you think your termite prevention failed and you have an infestation call a professional immediately. They can determine the best course of action for you.
