    • 1). Open the Command Prompt. To do this, click on the Start Menu, then "All Programs" and "Accessories." Right-click on the Command Prompt icon and select "Run as administrator." Enter your administrative password if prompted.

    • 2). Enter the command "sfc /scannow" at the prompt and press "Enter." This will begin the scan and verification of your system files, including Windows Media Center.

    • 3). Wait for the scan to complete. This will likely take a long time, so you may want to leave your computer and do something else until it's finished. Run Windows Media Center again after the scan is done to make sure it works properly again.
