Ever wonder what makes the best baseball players play their best in the diamond field? The most obvious answer to this question is their inspiration and honed skills.
These have been developed because of their consistent practice and dedication to one of the world's most popular sports.
Yes, these may be true, but there is a critical factor that plays a big role in the success of these athletes, and most of the people do not recognize it.
This is attributed to the clothing that they wear, most especially that well used pinstripe baseball pants that they wear.
Most baseball players utilize their baseball pants whenever they are in a competition as well as in practice.
In teams, these pants usually have a unified look which they are identified with.
There are even baseball games wherein a disqualification is declared upon a player or a team that does not adhere to the proper regulations of clothing.
Still, there is still more to talk about especially when it comes to the evolution of this most often overlooked pinstripe baseball pants that one sees in the game.
In the late 1840s the first baseball uniform ever released featured blue wool pants which were called 'pantaloons.
' These wool pants were either tied or buttoned up at the bottom in order for it not to interfere with an athlete's performance.
This problem is eventually solved in 1868 when the Cincinnati Red Stockings started donning knickers as an alternative, which was actually a borrowed idea from another sport called cricket.
Over time, other developments of the baseball pants appeared such as the quilted padding and the addition of belt tunnels to add decoration as well as security of the pants to the waist.
This was due to the rough and tumble style of baseball play that existed in the early days.
However, during the onset of the nineteenth century, players adopted the 'low- roll' style of pants wherein it exposed the players' knee high socks.
Technicalities in the game halted this trend and since then, people begin to witness the usual uniform pants getting tighter and less loose-fitting.
During the 1980s that the radical look of the baseball pants was introduced and in the 1990s the length of the pant leg became more extended.
It was only until the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that the seven regulations were established to limit the pan length just to the top of the shoe heel.
With all of these in mind, baseball players should then make sure to choose the regulation tested and passed baseball pants as it may affect their level of performance in the play.
It should be noted that the thickness of polyester is often linked to its resistance to wear and tear though it may get quite uncomfortable in hot weather conditions.
Such right choice when it comes to baseball gear may bring in more substance to a player, and he might be known more than just a jock in pinstripe baseball pants.
