Jin's Year for Love

Episode 2x5, …And Found - Flashback Scene 1
Jin gets ready for a job interview. He plans to work hard and get promoted so that he'll be respected, instead of just being a fisherman's son.

Jin is wearing an expensive tie, but leaves the tag on so he can return it.
Jin's friend is reading a Korean destiny book and says that this is Jin's year to find love. Jin doesn't buy into it. His friend says to look out for the color orange and that is when he will find his love.

People Like You

Episode 2x5, …And Found - Flashback Scene 2
Jin speaks with Mr. Kim at a job interview. Mr. Kim asks about Jin's earlier employment and where he is from. When Jin mentions the village he is from, Mr. Kim says, "No wonder. I thought I smelled fish on you."
Mr. Kim gets up and walks over to Jin and pulls the price tag off of the tie. Then he goes to the phone and says into it, "Mr. Kwon will be joining us." He hangs up the phone and looks at Jin, "You will start immediately. You work rain or shine. You don't ask for a raise or time off."

A man enters with a uniform for Jin. Mr. Kim says, "And Mr. Kwon, the Seoul Gateway is one of the finest hotels in the country. Do not open the door for people like you!" Jin is very thankful to get the job.

Jin Quits

Episode 2x5, …And Found - Flashback Scene 3
Jin opens the hotel door and Sun walks out. A poor man comes and asks Jin if his son can use the hotel bathroom. "I'm sorry, sir, hotel guests only." Jin says there is a bathroom down the street and asks the boy if he can hold it. The boy shakes his head.
Jin lets them in and tells them to be quick. Jin's boss walks up and says, "Mr. Kwon, what did I tell you about who you let inside?"

Jin apologizes and tries to explain that the boy had to use the bathroom. Mr. Kim says, "He can piss in the gutter for all I care. You people are used to that. If you want to keep your job, go find them and get them out of here."

Jin removes his gloves and hat and his boss asks what he's doing. "Thank you for the opportunity, sir." He shoves the gloves in Mr. Kim's hand and walks off.

Orange

Episode 2x5, …And Found - Flashback Scene 4
Jin walks along a river embankment in Seoul. He sees a girl in an orange dress and turns to look at her. As he turns back, he runs right into Sun and she drops her purse. He hands her her bag and they gaze into each others' eyes.

Mr. Paik

Episode 1x17, In Translation - Flashback Scene 1
Jin is in a huge office. He looks uncomfortable in his suit. The man behind the desk studies some papers and without looking at Jin says, "Why do you want to marry my daughter?"
Jin says, "Mr. Paik, I may be from a fishing village, but I have ambitions." Jin tells him how he wants to open a restaurant and one day own his own hotel.

Mr. Paik asks what Jin's father thinks of the marriage and after a pause Jin says, "My father is dead."

This gets Mr. Paik's attention and he finally looks up from what he was doing. "What would you do for my daughter?" Mr. Paik asks and Jin says anything. "Even work for me?" Jin says he would and Mr. Paik wants to know why he should give his daughter to a man who sells his own dreams so easily.

Jin says, "She is my dream, sir." They shake hands.

White Flower

Episode 1x17, In Translation - Flashback Scene 2
Jin speaks with Sun just after their wedding, while the reception guests are downstairs. She wishes that his father were alive to see this, and Jin looks down. She is sorry that she upset him and Jin says, "Wherever he is, I'm sure he is proud of me."
Sun asks about their honeymoon and Jin says, "Sun, you know I want to. It's just that right now, I want your father to see I'm committed."

"He won't hold it against you," she says. "After all, I am his daughter." Jin assures her that in six months, after his management training is done, they will have a honeymoon. Sun says that she's just as important as her father's car company. He puts a white flower in her hair.

Very Displeased

Episode 1x17, In Translation - Flashback Scene 3
Jin is in Sun's father's office apologizing, but Mr. Paik says he didn't call Jin here to reprimand him, he called him to promote him. He will now be Mr. Paik's special assistant.
Mr. Paik asks if Jin knows Byung Han. "The Secretary for Environmental Safety?" Jin asks.

Mr. Paik tells Jin to deliver Byung Han this message, "I am very displeased."

Later, Jin knocks on a door and Byung Han answers. He asks who Jin is and Jin says he works for Mr. Paik. Byung Han lets him in. His daughter is watching TV. She's watching Hurley on TV!

Jin says that he has a message and Byung Han looks nervous and says, "Please, not in front of my daughter."

Jin says, "Mr. Paik is displeased with you. That's all."

Byung Han is relieved and wishes there was some way he could apologize. As a thank you to Jin, he gives him his daughter's puppy.
