Colorado - 03-15-11 - Dillon, CO - 2-4 minutes. Objects like a campfire glow ascended and faded like a dim star in an easterly direction.
My son had just left and sure enough, he saw it too while up at the stoplight. He filmed it with his phone, but it was not good footage.

I thought of an afterburner on a jet, but it was silent. The distances were hard to tell. The light could have been dimming, not getting further away, says my wife.

The light kept getting smaller and finally faded away like a dim star.

Colorado - 03-20-11 - Lafayette, near Denver - We were visiting a relative's house in Lafayette on spring break, when we got a call from our relative's son at work.

He is a pilot in the Air Force, and was wanting us to look up into the sky.

We went outside and saw 3 bright, glowing (not blinking), red-orange lights in a triangle formation moving slowly from the Southwest to the Northeast.

The lights remained in a triangle formation, but spread apart and changed directions three-dimensionally.

They definitely looked like 3 separate craft considering we did not see any other shape indicating it was lights on a single craft, although it could have been transparent and moving closer to us.

The lights were also moving against the wind, and no noise was emitted from them that we could hear.

When they had ended up in the northeastern part of the sky, one of the lights faded out and then a minute or two later, another one faded out quickly followed by the last one.

I am not sure if they were lights individually faded from a craft or if the lights were individual crafts zooming back into space. They just faded out. We were able to capture the first few minutes on our phone cameras and the videos are on YouTube.

Colorado - 03-20-11 - Lafayette - Three strange, red blinking lights seen in the night sky above Erie, CO. We spotted 3 glowing red lights in a triangular formation, blinking slowly at about 8:45 PM MDT.

The lights were off in the northeastern sky, heading North slowly. No sound could be heard. One light disappeared, and the two remaining lights continued on slowly until completely disappearing.

The lights were brighter and bigger than a typical airplane signal light.

Colorado - 03-20-11 - Lafayette - 3 red lights in the shape of a triangle over Lafayette CO, for approximately 45 minutes.

The lights were blinking sometimes. They were first in the shape of a triangle then they slowly over a period of 30 minutes stretched out into a line.

Finally they slowly disappeared, the first light went out after about 1 1/2 minutes in a straight line, then approximately 1 minute later the last 2 just vanished.

Many people on the highway were pulling over to see this amazing display.

It happened twice about 5 minutes apart, and lasted 3 or 4 minutes each. We did not see them down below the mountainous horizon.

Colorado - 03-20-11 - We were inside eating pizza when my cousin's son called and told us to go outside and look at the sky because there were three bright red lights.

So we went out back of the house facing west and saw the 3 lights in the sky. First of all, there was not a star in the sky. There must have been high cloud cover.

The sky was pitch black and all you could see were these bright red lights in a triangular form hovering at what appeared to be approximately 3000-5000 feet in the sky.

The lights were steady but seemed to glow. They did not blink. There was absolutely no sound. They were as bright as stars, but red in color. They were the only lights in the sky.

We watched them for almost 20 minutes as they slowly moved from northwest to southeast. After about 15-20 minutes, we stopped to talk to my cousin's neighbors for a second, and when we looked back up, one of the lights had vanished.

We watched for a few more minutes, when the lower right light vanished.

Within a second or two, the third light vanished.

We couldn't tell if they just went out, or seemed to fly off. It appeared to be three separate objects, but I cannot be sure.

They did seem to elongate at one point, but it was hard to tell if that was due to our perspective in relationship to where it was.

It also appeared that one of the sides of the triangles moved further apart at one point; but again, that could be due to our perspective.

I want to stress that there was absolutely no sound and the lights were steady.

The video makes them seem to blink or glow, but that is due to the video.

The lights also seemed much closer and brighter in person than on the video.

I've had people speculate that they were sky lanterns, aircraft and satellites. However, because they were below the clouds, that rules out satellites.

I believe they were too bright for sky lanterns, but that may be the most common explanation.

Unless our government has completely silent aircraft with steady red lights that do not blink, I can't imagine it being aircraft.

It took nearly 20 minutes to travel maybe 20 miles. I'm not sure what it was, but it would be nice to have some sort of explanation.

Watching the object(s) was surreal for all of us. We all felt very strange as if anything could happen at any time.

All sorts of thoughts were going through our heads. You can hear much of what we were thinking in the video.
