How to Troubleshoot a Windows Vista Web Page
- 1). Close your web browser. Reopen the browser and attempt to go to the failed web page again.
- 2). Restart your PC. Open your web browser and attempt to access the problem page.
- 3). Turn off Internet Explorer's Content Advisor and then try to use the page. In Internet Explorer, click "Tools," "Internet Options." Click the "Content" tab, and then click "Disable" under "Content Advisor." You will have to enter your administrator password for Content Advisor to disable it.
- 4). Download and install any plugins necessary to run the web page. Some web pages require special software or plugins to function. When you go to a page that requires a new plugin, it may prompt you with a box asking if you want to install the required plugin. Choose "Yes" and install the plugin. Then try to access the page again.
- 5). Try to open the web page using a different web browser. Internet Explorer sometimes does not work well with certain web pages. You can download other browsers, such as Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari as a backup for Internet Explorer.
