More HD Channels with the Dish Platinum upgrade
Ever since I broke down and recently bought my new 1080p 42" Vizio HD LCD TV (it was a LOT of acronyms, but well worth it!), I realized that my cable company was severely lacking in what they offered in HD channels, so I started shopping around to see what I could find in either a better cable company, or a satellite TV provider that had the most high definition channels without costing me an arm and a leg each month. After all, the TV cost me a little more than $600 with tax, and I sure wasn't going to be stuck watching anything else but HDTV after spending all that money!
After carefully Googling every cable company and satellite TV provider on the planet, I finally came to realize that my best option was to go for the Dish Network America's Top 250, which gave me over 250 channels to pick from, but best of all it had more than double the HD channels that my former cable company had, plus it was cheaper! I LOVE movies, especially action movies that have all the surround sound bells and whistles to give me the feeling that I'm right in the middle of the action, and even though the America's Top 250 already came with a ton of movie channels, I wanted to make sure I could have not only more movies, but more movies that were high definition. The sales rep for Dish Network pointed out to me that there was this upgrade known as Dish Platinum that cost only $10 per month and included a total of 22 additional channels, with 18 of them in HD. That didn't sound like much considering I had just decided to sign up for a satellite TV package that had over 250 channels for $50 a month, and I was not only going to be getting Showtime free for 3 months, but they were also going to throw in the Dish Platinum upgrade for free for 3 months as well. Boy was I in for a surprise!!
It's been a month now since I had them come out and connect the Dish service, and I've found that the Dish Platinum upgrade was all they said it is and more. Out of the 22 additional channels that are part of the Platinum package, there's 9 of them that are dedicated to HD movies, with everything from action movies for me, to crime drama's and love stories for my girlfriend. They even have a channel that features short story movies for those times when you feel like watching something that has a storyline to it without committing to a 2 hour time frame.
