- 2). Reduce the heat to medium and let the mixture simmer for two minutes. Remove from the stove and let it cool for at least an hour.
- 3). Pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a bowl. Use a funnel to transfer the mixture to a clean, empty spray bottle. Put the lid on the bottle and shake it up well to combine the ingredients. Shake the bottle before each use.
- 1). Pour 1 cup of water into a medium saucepan. Put the pan on the stove and bring the water to a boil.
- 2). Pour 1 oz. of unflavored gelatin into a mixing bowl. Slowly stir in the boiling water. Continue stirring until all of the gelatin has dissolved.
- 3). Stir 1 ¼ cups of cool water into the gelatin mixture. Add a few drops of your choice of food coloring, if you would like.
- 4). Let the mixture cool for a few hours to room temperature. Add 10 drops of vanilla essential oil and stir thoroughly. Put the mixture in the refrigerator for five hours, or until it reaches the consistency of a firm jelly.
- 5). Mash up the gel with a fork to create large chunks. Transfer a small amount of the air freshener gel into a decorative bowl or vase. Store any unused gel in an air-tight container.
