How to Repair an E74 Error on an Xbox 360
- 1). Turn off your Xbox 360 after you receive the "E74 error" message.
- 2). Allow your system to sit without power for 10 seconds.
- 3). Turn on your Xbox 360 again to see if the error returns. If you get the message again, you have verified there is a hardware issue with your system.
- 4). Go to the Xbox support website and log in using your Windows Live ID.
- 5). Submit a console-repair request at the XBox support website. You will need your console's serial number for this.
- 6). Follow the on-screen instructions to package and ship your console for repair. It usually takes two to three weeks for the repairs to be complete. There is no cost for the repair of an Xbox with the "E74 error."
