How to Connect the Host Machine in Remote Desktop
- 1). Log in to the machine using an administrator user name and password. Right-click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop and select "Properties." For a Windows Vista machine, the icon is labeled "Computer."
- 2). Click the "Remote" tab in the window that opens. Check the box labeled "Allow users to remotely connect to this computer."
- 3). Click the button labeled "Select Remote Users." This opens a new window where you enter all the users you want to have access to the host machine. Enter the user name you want to have access to the remote desktop machine and press the "OK" button.
- 4). Open the remote desktop application on the client machine and attempt to log in. You are now able to access the host machine remotely from any computer on your network.
