Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Lower Manhattan, along the waterfront next to the Bowling Green neighborhood. There are plenty of things to in Battery Park that you could plan a day trip around, including dining, museums, sightseeing, a memorial, and the starting point to see New York's most iconic landmark.

Statue of Liberty
One of the most well known attractions accessible from Battery Park in New York is the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States from France as a symbol of our freedom. It was dedicated to the United States on October 28, 1886. It is located on Ellis Island and visitor can take a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. It was proclaimed to be a national monument in 1924. It was designed by Fr©d©ric Bartholdi, who was a sculptor from France. This is a great way to spend a day at Battery Park.

Skyscraper Museum
Another attraction at Battery Park, New York is the Skyscraper Museum. The Skyscraper Museum celebrates the history of New York's most famous skyscrapers, and the people who have influenced the skyscrapers the most. The museum was founded in 1996. It is a nonprofit organization that looks into the past, present, and future of skyscrapers. It has some of the best exhibits that represents each one of New York's finest skyscrapers. This museum can be another great part of a day in Battery Park.

The Irish Hunger Memorial
Another attraction at the park is The Irish Hunger Memorial. The Irish Hunger Memorial is a memorial in honor of Great Irish Famine and Migration" of 1845. This event lasted for seven years. Many Americans can trace their heritage back to this event because most of Ireland's population was forced to emigrate do to the lack of food at home. This time in Ireland's history was called the Great Hunger. This was when the potato crops, one of their main food staples, were destroyed. This attraction is a place to remember how many immigrated to the United Stats.

Liberty View
To cap off your day, one of the most popular restaurants in Battery Park is Liberty View. Liberty View is a local Chinese restaurant. It was established in 2005. It is located on the side of the Hudson River. It has some of the best views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and New Jersey. These views make it a great place to eat and relax while in Battery Park for the day.
