• The Zoom Studio line was a series of affordable, rack-mountable (single space) digital reverb and multieffects processors. With a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and full stereo configuration, the units could be used for both live performance and studio applications.
  
  

Zoom Studio 1201

• The first unit in the Zoom Studio line, the 1201, features a total of 363 effects settings arranged in three banks. Bank A is devoted to the unit's 11 different reverb types. Banks B and C each contain 11 different modulation effects, some of which are unique (chorus, pitch shifter), others of which are combinations of effects (chorus-delay, flanger-reverb). The 22 modulation effects contain a few novel settings, including simulations of lo-fi audio gear and a karaoke machine. In addition to the usual controls, such as input/output volume and effects mix, the 1201 also includes a "character variation" knob that allows users to choose between 11 variations for each of the 33 effects.
  
  

Zoom Studio 1202

• The Zoom Studio 1202 expands its predecessor's 363 possible settings to a total of 512. These settings are separated into two banks of 16 effects each. The "pattern" knob allows for 16 variations on each individual effect, and two "edit" knobs offer further control over the parameters for each setting. (The parameters controlled by the pattern and edit knobs depend on which effect is selected.) As with the 1201, bank A is devoted to reverb effects, bank B to modulation effects, including some settings which combine the two types.
  
  

Zoom Studio 1204

• Like the 1202, the 1204 includes two banks of 16 effects with 16 variations each, for a total of 512 settings. However, it is the first of the Studio line to offer user definable presets (100 total), expanding the number of possible settings to 612. In the unit's "manual mode," the layout functions similarly to the 1202. The reverb and modulation effects are spread over two banks, along with pattern and edit variations for each. In "memory mode," users can program their own combinations of effects and store them in the 1204's internal memory to be recalled later.
  
  

Rear Panel Inputs and Outputs

• Both the 1201 and 1202 feature two pairs of 1/4-inch jacks for stereo/mono input and stereo output, as well as a 1/4-inch input for the optional FS01 foot switch, which activates and deactivates bypass. The 1204 has identical 1/4-inch inputs and outputs on the rear panel, but adds a single 1/4-inch mono microphone input on the front panel. It also replaces the FS01 jack with a MIDI in jack, allowing the unit to receive instructions from any device with MIDI out.
