Tees Maar Khan - Reviewed

103 7
This week is big.
For the last three years, movie buffs in India identify this week as more of an Aamir Khan week (Taare Zameen Par in 2007, Ghajini in 2008 and 3 Idiots in 2009) than the usual Christmas week.
With no Aamir Khan movie slated to release this week, Farah Khan grabbed the opportunity and released her latest movie, Tees Maar Khan this Friday.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna in main leads, this movie is supposedly comedy of a con-artist.
Plot: Akshay is a wanted Con Man who has been successful in outwitting the police every time they catch him, gets a contract from Johri Brothers (Raghu Ram-Rajiv Laxman) to release their 500 Crore antiques from police custody.
This film revolves how he plan this with his girlfriend (Katrina Kaif) and how a mega movie star, Ayush Kapoor(Akshaye Khanna), comes into picture and whether he becomes successful in achieving the feat or not is all what this movie is all about.
Positives: * No brainier.
Children would enjoy the most followed by people who doesn't feel embarrass laughing at silly gags.
* Masala movie - Like all the other Farah Khan movies, this is also a complete masala movie and the hardcore moviegoers would enjoy it for sure.
* Akshaye Khanna: I have always felt that Akshaye Khanna generally play intense roles much better than the comic ones(because he gets too loud in a comic role) proved me all wrong.
He is a delight to watch in this movie and it wouldn't be wrong to say that 'Day ho' and his 'Oscar' winning performance would win him a lots of accolades he truly deserves for his superb role.
* Shiela Ki Jawani - It was hard to believe that I was sitting in a multiplex when the song came on.
The seeti's and hooting continued till the song got over and surely proved to be one of the attracting feature to certain masses.
Negatives: * No Brainier - It cold be negative as well, mainly due to the critics who definitely give the movie a low rating thus effecting the hype as well as psyche of a normal man.
* Second half - One sub-plot doesn't gel well with the movie and it could have been written much more effectively.
* Lack of punches - All the punches were shown in the promos itself, so the effectiveness from the dialogues(otherwise, very witty) were diluted.
Also, Akshay Kumar, though performed brilliantly, looked repetitive.
Direction - Every scene has a Farah Khan stamp written in bold letters.
The scene in the beginning where the Inspector tells the tale of all the three most dangerous criminals is something that we could have only expected from her.
Acting: Akshay Kumar - He is indeed the best choice for Tabrez Mirza Khan aka Tees Maar Khan.
Only problem is that he is getting repetitive now and seriously needs to look at other genres as well.
Otherwise, he did complete justice to the role and on several occasions, you could sense that he could have only performed the way he did.
Katrina Kaif - She is purely an eye-candy in the movie.
She has never seen as gorgeous and surprisingly she performed quite well keeping in mind the role she was given.
Akshaye Khanna - He saved the show according to me.
He is so brilliant in the movie, specially when he and Akshay met for the first time and when he performed the bank robbery scene.
Actually whenever he appears, the screen lightens up and at least, I enjoyed his performance the most.
I mean, Each and Every Scene..
!!!! The supporting cast is also good with Sachin Khedekar and Vijay Patkar being the best and provided quite a bit of laughs.
On a whole, if you enjoyed Om Shanti Om than its a must watch movie for you and for rest its comparably a little better than Om Shanti Om.
2.
5/5 CHEERS..
